Blood Drive at PantheaCon 2017

February 17, 2017 - February 20, 2017

The Coru Cathubodua is joining forces with Solar Cross Temple, Blood Centers of the Pacific and Red Cross once again for a blood drive at Pantheacon 2017. Let’s make this year another successful drive for life! Please pre-register so the blood center knows how many staff members to send!

1- Go to www.bloodheroes.com
2- Enter our sponsor code ‘PCon’
3- Select your preferred appointment time
4- Show up to the bloodmobile at your appointment time at PantheaCon

Advance signup helps the Blood Center allocate enough staff and equipment to meet the need. Registration is very quick. Appointments are easy to reschedule on that website if you should need to do so, so please sign up in advance, even if you think you may need to change your appointment later. The bloodmobile will be onsite Friday 2/12 – Sunday 2/14 to receive blood donations.

We are seeking volunteers to help staff the blood drive signup table. No experience needed! This is a great way to support the drive, even if you are not able to donate blood. To volunteer:
1- Open the volunteer signup online document at  http://tinyurl.com/PconVolSked
2- Enter your name for the hours you can volunteer at the table
3- Show up for your volunteer time at PantheaCon

There are eligibility restrictions on who can give blood. If you can’t give, please consider helping the effort by recruiting someone who can, and by sharing this page on your social networks to encourage others to donate. Here is a link to find out if you are eligible: http://www.bloodcenters.org/blood-donation/am-i-eligible/.
Thanks in part to your voices in previous years, federal guidelines regarding men who have sex with men (MSM) donating blood have been adjusted to only a one year deferral. There is still work to do on this issue, but change is moving in the right direction. Thank you for your activism and advocacy!

We are holding this blood drive as an act of devotion in honor of the Morrígan, the matron Goddess of the Coru Cathubodua Priesthood. We’re encouraging folks to donate blood in the Morrígan’s name as an offering to Her and an act of kinship with our fellow human beings. But the blood drive is for all, and if you happen not to want to give in Her name, feel free to give in the name of your own deities, or just give without devotional intent, in honor of humanity.

Pantheacon Blood donors will receive special badge ribbons to display your heroic gift and encourage others to do likewise.
